Justine the Best Director of S2F2!!

From Justine’s Email:

Hey guys, this is Justine.

As y’all know, yesterday I went to SAS Puxi for the S2F2 with some of the members.. And congratulations to us, our short film Runner…

won the BEST DIRECTING award!

Can I get a woot woot???

Okay, anyways,

all I want to say is that I’m so thankful of having every single one of you and I’m so very proud of you.

Yin and Jason are going to be one of the greatest movie couples ever in the movie history of the world like Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn from Roman Holidays or Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman from Casablanca. Which, by the way, are both awesome movies, go watch them. Seriously. You guys are so amazing. Pardon my French, lol. I can always enjoy my times around you guys and honestly filming with you guys is….way more than just fun. Oh and Yin, you have done way much more than you need to and I am so thankful for that. I love ya babes :)

Peter, sigh, I’m still in the process of convincing him to be a movie editor. Actually, people why don’t you join me? Peter, you really have the talent to be one! So don’t waste it, you! And, haha, I know that sometimes we really just hate each other, but I also really hate to admit that you are, in fact, the best editor/nerd I’ve ever seen. Your skills blown me away. Thank you, honey. :)

Thanakrit, first of all I really need to say that I love you so much. And I’ll love you more if you could just stop talking to Yvette. :D . Just kidding laaaaah. Anyways, thank you for being so awesome and always yell at me when I need it. You always give me the best suggestions in filming and seriously you’re just great. Indescribable great friend and after effect-er and Thai ;)

Ethan, Miffy, Paul, Christie, Stephany, Simon, Shirley and everybody else who helped in making this possible, thank you so so so much. The Runner would never happened without any of you. And sorry that you don’t have your individual paragraph, but y’all are getting a fatter paragraph than any of them. Ha sucks for them. ANYWAYS, lol, you guys made this possible and each and everyone of you are so good it amazes it. I’m serious, that first scene where everybody’s just busy and stuff, you guys are so good. I know because you guys pulled it off perfectly when I know that I really suck at explaining the entire situation. Miffy, thank you for lending us the awesome camera, which, by the way, is so good that my computer actually froze 3 times while I was trying to watch the original movie. Paul and Ethan and Christie, you guys are (y). Thumbs up for you guys. And Paul, sorry for the little incident that happened  :( You’re so cute, Howdy lol.

As for Yvette, really, what’s there to say? I love you <3

Anyways, I guess all I’m trying to say is that, this would never be possible without any of you. I don’t think that’s grammatically correct but I don’t care. You guys are truly the greatest friends one can ever ask for, and the best crew a director can ever ask for. If I can choose again, I’d still choose you guys.

This award is dedicated to all of you.

And I will definitely mention your name when I’m receiving that Oscar. :D

I love y’all. :)

Website & Faculty Member change

As most of you are probably aware, we now have a new website domain http://www.mvcstudios.com. We will continue to update the website, such as putting more contents in it. So please check back regularly! Also, responding to Christie’s comment, I added a small “wall” section for you to just shout… anything. It is in the sidebar —>, titled “Wall”

Secondly, we have a new Faculty Advisor for our club! We were so delighted to have Mr. Carroll as our new faculty advisor! We had a meeting with him this afternoon, and it was certainly great to share some thoughts about the club between each other. Let’s hope we can do better with the new advisor =)

Plans screwed up. Plan B

We were just notified that the S2F2 deadline has been changed to March 13, which is next Friday. In order to maintain qualities in the film, we decided that it is the best not to film both videos (Remedy and Running) at once, but only focus one.

We have decided to keep Running and move Remedy to later. More news will come up, and the calendar would definitely be updated.

MVC Newsletter #4

Oh man, it was a long time since the last newsletter. So in this issue we have a lot to talk about. Ready? Let’s go.

  • Movie Ideas Meeting
  • Domain for website

Movie Ideas Meeting
Alright! So now we have some money from the fundraising we did before, we can now start filming. According to the filming process: http://peter.novahost.org/2008/09/filmmaking-process/, we are at the development stage right now, and so we need everybody’s inputs.

The meeting is going to be held next Monday and Tuesday during lunch time 12:40 at Movie Club room. Everybody is allowed to join us to listen ideas and suggest things. It will be an insightful meeting. We will brainstorm together, and talk things like the details of the movies such as actors, start date/end date, potential of each member, etc.

Any member is allowed to join us! But of course, once you came, please try to focus on the discussion as we want to get this done as soon as possible

Other short film projects are going to be taken place as well in short period of time. Find more info about those here: http://peter.novahost.org/category/vidoes-progress/

So see you on Monday and Tuesday 12:40 at B208 next Monday and Tuesday =)

Domain for MVC Website
I know I know. This might soudn annoying, but we have to get this done. Domains that hve been suggested, such as mvcproductions, movierevolution, etc. has all been taken by somebody else, so we can’t really choose them. So please suggest some other cool names =)

If you have any questions, feel free to reply and ask us. =)

My turn to say “Thank You”!

Alright guys,

I know Yvette already sent an email to all saying “Thank you”, but I realised that as a VP, I need to write something about it too.

The Sports Day fundraiser, as you all know, was a great success. We earned in the total 1615 RMB. Along with 715 that we earned last year’s White Valentine’s Day event, our fund is now over 2300 RMB. That’s a lot, if you ask me.

Thank you for all who participated in this event. You guys all did great, and without you guys the sports day would be such a mess (Yvette didn’t say it so I did :P )

Alright, we will need to start planning for the next fundraiser. Any ideas?

Peter
