About The SMIC Movie Industry Club.

The Movie Industry is a club that has officially begun this year (to be exact, September 1^st, 2008). It is a club designed to aid high school students of SMIC Private School in discovering their potentiality in the movie industry, and of course, have fun! Through a series of scriptwriting, props managing, intensive fundraising, extreme directing, excessive filming, and rigorous editing, the Movie Industry Club is a place for those who wish to see great accomplishments from their hard work (when I say hard work, I mean hard work. For example, for every minute of the film that is shown, about half an hour of production time would be inputted [however, this is by the time we are ready to produce our very own movie-length film]).

Thus the plan for this year is divided into the following:

1. Recruit as many members as possible.
2. Give everyone a thorough explanation of each role in the movie production process, as well as a mini hands-on try (short clip).
3. By the end of the quarter, hopefully all members will have discovered their interests.
4. We shall begin with filming short clips bi-weekly to be shown to the school during morning assemblies. (Those not participating will aid in the Managing Crew for the Sports Department)
5. In the second semester, we hope to have the skill and perhaps the financial aid to be able to film an intermediate length movie (around 30 to 45 minutes) to be shown to the entire school at the end of the school year.

Our Mission Statement: Through hard work and enjoyment at the same time, we want to bring to the audience the best that we can show at the very moment, and work up the ladder towards producing many commercial length movies.

Our Faculty Advisor this year: Mr. Russ Weber! We are very proud to have Mr. Weber as our faculty advisor this year as he is the very teacher who inspired the founding of this club nearly two years ago.
