Thanks!
I just can’t tell you how pleased I am with the filming today in school. It took us only 1:30 hours to finish the 5 scenes that we planned that we would shoot for 2:30 hours.
The combination of Mr. Shall and Ms. Hsu is simply great. It is always fun to hear them go insulting each other. Mr. Hsu would always say about “You[Mr. Johnson, Mr. Shall] promised to love Andrew [his son, Michael Tao] when you married me[Mrs. Johnson, Ms. Hsu]!”. In addition, Mr. Canfield loved introducing the “Wonderful exit signs that lined up across the hallways”. Hilarious!
I am really looking forward to film with you guys again sometime next week. Good job!
Thanks to all the people who showed up today, especially Yvette, Thanakrit and Jason. You guys helped me so much!
From Justine’s Email:
Hey guys, this is Justine.
As y’all know, yesterday I went to SAS Puxi for the S2F2 with some of the members.. And congratulations to us, our short film Runner…

Can I get a woot woot???
Okay, anyways,
all I want to say is that I’m so thankful of having every single one of you and I’m so very proud of you.
Yin and Jason are going to be one of the greatest movie couples ever in the movie history of the world like Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn from Roman Holidays or Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman from Casablanca. Which, by the way, are both awesome movies, go watch them. Seriously. You guys are so amazing. Pardon my French, lol. I can always enjoy my times around you guys and honestly filming with you guys is….way more than just fun. Oh and Yin, you have done way much more than you need to and I am so thankful for that. I love ya babes
Peter, sigh, I’m still in the process of convincing him to be a movie editor. Actually, people why don’t you join me? Peter, you really have the talent to be one! So don’t waste it, you! And, haha, I know that sometimes we really just hate each other, but I also really hate to admit that you are, in fact, the best editor/nerd I’ve ever seen. Your skills blown me away. Thank you, honey.
Thanakrit, first of all I really need to say that I love you so much. And I’ll love you more if you could just stop talking to Yvette.
. Just kidding laaaaah. Anyways, thank you for being so awesome and always yell at me when I need it. You always give me the best suggestions in filming and seriously you’re just great. Indescribable great friend and after effect-er and Thai
Ethan, Miffy, Paul, Christie, Stephany, Simon, Shirley and everybody else who helped in making this possible, thank you so so so much. The Runner would never happened without any of you. And sorry that you don’t have your individual paragraph, but y’all are getting a fatter paragraph than any of them. Ha sucks for them. ANYWAYS, lol, you guys made this possible and each and everyone of you are so good it amazes it. I’m serious, that first scene where everybody’s just busy and stuff, you guys are so good. I know because you guys pulled it off perfectly when I know that I really suck at explaining the entire situation. Miffy, thank you for lending us the awesome camera, which, by the way, is so good that my computer actually froze 3 times while I was trying to watch the original movie. Paul and Ethan and Christie, you guys are (y). Thumbs up for you guys. And Paul, sorry for the little incident that happened
You’re so cute, Howdy lol.
As for Yvette, really, what’s there to say? I love you <3
Anyways, I guess all I’m trying to say is that, this would never be possible without any of you. I don’t think that’s grammatically correct but I don’t care. You guys are truly the greatest friends one can ever ask for, and the best crew a director can ever ask for. If I can choose again, I’d still choose you guys.
This award is dedicated to all of you.
And I will definitely mention your name when I’m receiving that Oscar.
I love y’all.

We should balance out the time for our personal films and the school promotional meeting.
The French Club Event is canceled: an email is needed regarding the cancelation.
We’re here to talk to discuss the ideas regarding the RFC film.
AMY: What we want in the film? “portray music, having fun while helping people.” FOCUS ON ROCK MUSIC, ACCOMPANIED WITH HELPING. to get people interested.
Start with a funny/comedic scene, solemn towards the end.
- Opening doors to see instruments.
THANAKRIT: Song Empty (slow). Footage of the Si Chua charity at the first part.We show that we are going to use music to help.
Start off watching TV, knowing that people are suffering but no one’s helping. Maybe enter into the act of helping.
Maybe first part should be hyper, two focus.
JUSTINE: film melancholy sound. Then…shows people looking for the music. Finds the band playing, transition to Word-Picture, with the studio version behind.
Requires an upbeat song, with a strong bass: Parellizer
NEEDS VARIETY OF PEOPLE FOR THE RUNING PART.
Deadlines
- Screenplay: Yvette writes the screenplay.
- Start Filming next week
It’s out it’s out! Yes, I am just probably as excited as you are, but IT IS OUT! Justine’s Running film, after 3 weeks of production is finally out to public.
This film is going to be submitted to the Shanghai Student Film Festival on April 17th. For more information of this video, visit this post.
Film updated on 18 March. Enjoy the vid! (Youtube seems to darkened the film by a bit)
Download it now: iPod (22M), Medium Quality (30M), or Loseless Quality (866M, through torrent)
GREAT news : S2F2 deadline has been switched back to the coming Friday, March 20th. (cheers y’all)
As most might have witnessed in the last week or so, Justine’s “Runner” crew have all been migrating around school grounds in attempt to finish the filming of “Runner.” Good Job to all of Justine’s crewdudes, because y’all did it– filming is completely completed. (at least that’s what they have been feeding me)
Ever since March 4th, Director Justine Hsu has been busy with her crew with filming throughout the week, until Friday March 13th of the past week did the filming end. There were in total of 17 scenes and we give special thanks to the super determined crew, including the director herself.

As most of you are probably aware, we now have a new website domain http://www.mvcstudios.com. We will continue to update the website, such as putting more contents in it. So please check back regularly! Also, responding to Christie’s comment, I added a small “wall” section for you to just shout… anything. It is in the sidebar —>, titled “Wall”
Secondly, we have a new Faculty Advisor for our club! We were so delighted to have Mr. Carroll as our new faculty advisor! We had a meeting with him this afternoon, and it was certainly great to share some thoughts about the club between each other. Let’s hope we can do better with the new advisor =)
We were just notified that the S2F2 deadline has been changed to March 13, which is next Friday. In order to maintain qualities in the film, we decided that it is the best not to film both videos (Remedy and Running) at once, but only focus one.
We have decided to keep Running and move Remedy to later. More news will come up, and the calendar would definitely be updated.
